Irvine Flight Win AAU District Qualifying Tournament

Irvine Flight Win AAU District Qualifying Tournament

The Irvine Flight, boys 8th grade All Net/AAU participated and won their
division in the AAU District Qualifying Tournament held on April 19th.

After going undefeated in pool play, the Flight beat the Los Alamitos
Splashers in the Championship game 43-41 to win the tournament and advance
on to the AAU District Championship to be held in May.

Behind a superb all-around performance by Thatcher who lead the Flight
throughout the tournament and an excellent effort by Rege and Martinez
(handling all point guard duties), the group played typical Flight
Basketball - harrassing, hard-nosed defense and a up-tempo style that most
teams cannot keep up with.

The Flight were comprised of: Daniel Thatcher, Claudell Martinez, Luke
Chaikovsky, Nick Mattair, Bryan Nguyen, Davion Lavender, Wes Hsi, Ryan Pham
and Atharva Rege.

The Flight are coached by Jeff Swartz, Jason Holte and Lisa Swartz
